Thanks Everybody!
Today was amazing. I set up in front of Walmart (Post Falls, Idaho) around 9:30am to sell raffle tickets for Team Backwoods Views. Thanks to my brother Jesse for helping me get things set up. Thanks to Johna, Joetta, Elizabeth and my mother Jan for bringing me coffee, a pair of gloves and food. I owe you! Also, to my wife Karen for stopping by after work to bring me a warmer coat and to visit. The sun was shining and there was no wind, but I was literally chilled to the bone sitting in the shade for almost 10 hours. (A lot like ice-fishing) The one thing that kept me from leaving was knowing that being cold, tired and slightly hypothermic is of little significance when compared to the pain and suffering a person feels while fighting cancer. It's interesting how many similarities there are between selling raffle tickets and fishing or hunting. Slow for awhile, and then "boom" the action begins. I was impressed by the amount of traffic that rolled through the Walmart parking lot. No wonder they're expanding daily! Honestly, there must have been around a 100 cars per hour that drove by the front door. The day went well, and I met a lot of nice people and had some inspiring conversations with a few of them. Some of the people that bought tickets are dealing with cancer as I write this. Please say a prayer for them! Team Backwoods Views appreciates all of your donations and wishes everybody who entered the best of luck in the raffle. Together we raised $620 towards the fight against cancer. That's something to be proud of. Thank You Thank You Thank You! Remember to tell your family how much you love them and remember cancer won't find a cure for itself!
